We had a lovely dinner at Barrio Bistro. The service was great, and they. had a musician playing soft, easy going music that was wonderful to listen to. They have some unique dishes and sauces. Dessert was amazing!!! Both our meals were delicious and we will definitely being going back there.

Wanted to give a shout to Barrio Bistro last night. This is our first dedicated trip to Puerto Vallarta. Memo and his staff were so kind and accommodating. It felt very personal as Memo greeted every guest who walked in and seated us himself. We were a family of four with a 3yo and 7yo. The attention they gave to the children made us feel very welcome for a more intimate experience. My husband is vegan so it proves to be an obstacle during travels. They said they had limited options but we found half of their offerings were very close or able to be modified with extra vegetables or fruits. The homemade raicilla was new for us and enjoyed it thoroughly. They brought samples and the presentation of their dishes far exceeded our expectations. I hope Memo and his staff continues to find success and satisfaction in his business. We have a laundry list of restaurants while we’re here but may return before we leave.

Fabulous restaurant with unique meal choices and fantastic service. It is priced as such as well - so keep that in mind when your dropping 1500-2000p on dinner for two. Forewarned, the wine list doesn’t give you much of a break on the budget either. Food and presentation was top notch tho and they have some unique cocktails and menu items.

Barrio is a colorful restaurant with great drinks. However, it did not meet our taste. We ordered some drinks to start, which were pretty tasty (pasion colada and charco de sol). To start, we received a small ceviche tostada as on the house appetizer. This was a very nice detail. It was tasty, but it didn't have a strong ceviche taste. We ordered Mushrooms as an appetizer, they were really great! The portion size was more than decent, and they were really tasty! As the appetizer was great, we had high expectations for the main course. We had fish with pesto and almonds and shrimps with pasta. Unfortunately, we did not like the main courses a lot. The fish (may be because of the type of fish) was very meaty and dry, the pesto with almonds was OK, however the steamed vegetables as sidedish was also not our favorite. The shrimps with pasta reminded us of soup pasta with tomato sauce. It would have been better to have proper pasta like tagliatelle or something else. It felt a bit cheap, and it did not go great with the shrimps. The tomato sauce was really basic, it was just like a plain tomato sauce. The shrimps, however, were cooked great and very tasty. They had live Latin music, which was great! In general it is a nice colorful restaurant, with tasty drinks, well presented food, but in our opinion not very tasty, just ok. We would only come back for drinks, the mushrooms again and the music again!

Friends and I decided to come here for our last night in PV for my friend's birthday. Food was phenomenal. Service from Sara, Lalo, and the rest of the staff was amazing. Would definitely make the effort to come here again next time I'm vacationing down here.
